Weddings

Make our house your home for your special day. Curate your own private backyard wedding, with roses and flowers surrounding a lush green lawn, and welcome your guests into a warm and inviting space.

The Historic Overlook House features period interiors include hardwood floors, rich paint colors, a fireplace, and unpainted woodwork. Included in the rental is several bathrooms, full kitchen, and multiple reception rooms on the ground level. The upstairs includes private rooms for the bridal party and a second-floor balcony with a romantic wisteria covered spiral stairs to the garden below.

Our gardens and grounds provide an intimate oasis in the heart of the city. Flowering roses surround a white arbor and mature plantings frame views of downtown, the West Hills and Willamette River. 

With an interior capacity of 75 and a garden that can entertain up to 150 we fit most wedding parties. In addition, the house is ADA accessible and equipped with central heating and air conditioning.  

There is also a basement party room and restrooms available for additional costs. All our events include use of our tables and chairs, and interior furnishings. Dishes, flatware and other items are available for rent.

Private Events

Host your next meeting, retreat or event in our home! Our warm and gracious private home is completely available for your use. The period interiors include hardwood floors, rich colors, a fireplace, and unpainted woodwork. Our gardens and grounds provide an intimate oasis in the heart of the city. Flowering roses and mature plantings frame views of the Downtown, West Hills and Willamette River.

Your rental includes: the ground level living room, sunroom, dining room, multi-purpose room, ADA bathroom, and full kitchen for your use. The upstairs features a large meeting room and a private bathroom.

The basement party room and restrooms are available for additional costs. The house is ADA accessible and equipped with central heating and air conditioning with a capacity of 75. All of our events include use of our interior furnishings and wifi. 

Neighborhood Gatherings

It is our honor to host several community gatherings throughout the year. The Friends of the Overlook House utilizes volunteers and donations to put on cultural, educational, and social activities.

Location

The Overlook House is just minutes from downtown Portland with plentiful free street parking and bike racks, and is accessible by Portland’s MAX Yellow line.
